“You’re Hired Kent” is a joint campaign between Kent County Council, Medway Council, Kent Association of Training Organisations (KATO) and Kent Further Education (KFE), supported by the National Apprenticeship Service. Working with the newly established Guilds which focus on the key industry sectors in Kent, the campaign will raise awareness and create new exciting apprenticeships at all levels.
We are extremely excited about this great initiative and the potential it has to benefit not only Kent’s business community but also the young people in the county who are keen to learn and contribute to the workplace. We are delighted to be launching at the Kent Vision LIVE annual breakfast, which always brings together a great cross section of the county’s businesses.Lindsay Collins
“You’re Hired Kent” is a new initiative to raise awareness and encourage local businesses in Kent to recruit apprentices.
This innovative campaign aims to engage employers to pledge apprenticeships for 500 young people across the county of Kent.
The campaign will run for 100 days working collaboratively with Kent Training Providers and Colleges.
The promotion of the campaign will have sustained media coverage with a Twitter and social media campaign.
Apprenticeships for Young People
We launched this initiative on Wednesday 11th May during the Kent Vision Live event at the ‘You’re Hired Kent’ Breakfast. During the event, employers pledged their apprenticeship opportunities at the “You’re Hired Kent” stand in the Skills & Employability area.
Throughout the campaign, our “Pledge-o-Meter” below will keep up to date with the number of pledges received from employers. Check out our Apprenticeship Providers section to find out more about Kent employers who have pledged apprenticeship opportunities.
Apprenticeships provide an injection of skills training into the workforce and help aid the economic recovery. This campaign will support businesses to grow their workforce and in turn increase their productivity. They give young people a recognised framework of qualifications and the basis for future sustainable employment.
